Awesome vid! I’d love to see an extended version of the hillbillies!
Not religious but love, love, love the community, the support, the fun, and joy.
Hey Matty, I’m glad that you liked the video and I’ll work on getting the extended hillbillies video posted.
And you’re right — the community, fun, joy and support of our church is pretty awesome. Also, I would say that it’s way beyond religion at that point. I see religion as being a set of rules that you need to follow and that you follow them just because you feel like you need to check them off the list.
What we have at our church is different than that. Even though we do have some beliefs and rules, we choose to not only follow them, but to live into them and have them become past of the relationship we have with God.
In other words, I see religion as only following rules for rules sake and I see my faith as following and building a relationship with God in a way that’s much more similar to how I would interact with a coach. I might not like or feel natural doing what he tells me to do, but in the end it’s all for my best interests and done out of love.
You guys truly are an inspiration. Not just with your involvement with your church and your community, but because of the joy with which you both seem to dive into life. Cheers. Happy Wednesday!
