High Five Etiquette

If you know anything about me, you know that one thing that I have an obsession with is the high five (I even wrote something about the history of it). I give them to friends, to strangers and Stephanie and I even give them out while we’re running in the mornings. I’m not sure why, but a high five is just something that puts a smile on people’s faces and makes even the most awkward situation feel ok.

Now that you know my obsession with the high five, it will make much more sense why I thought that all of you should check out this sweet video all about high five etiquette that I found this morning while browsing the interwebs. There are all kinds of situations that I think we can all relate to, so give it a couple minutes of your time when you need a break this morning.

There are Franks in your backpacks!

While I was at the office today Frank kept trying to climb into my backpack, so I decided to give him what he wanted. The funny thing is, once I zipped him up, he didn’t really want to get out. I have a feeling that this won’t be the last time you’ll see us hanging out like this.

Remember, you’re rarely ever NOT on camera anymore (so please put away your gun)

I just saw the video below on Mashable.com and it just really gets me thinking about how you’re never not on camera anymore. Especially if you’re a cop that pulls out your gun on a bunch of kids who organized the snowball fight on Twitter. Whoops.

Hey, that’s not a snowball….no fair!

It also gets me thinking about how much of this crazy stuff went on and who got away with it before we could get it on camera and post it for the entire world to see (similar to my thoughts on the crazy chick fight on an bus in SF that was caught on an iPhone a while back). Remember, we’re always watching so be ready to face the consequences of your actions even when you think you’ll never have to.

The new Robin Hood movie looks awesome — Russell Crowe’s coolest role since Gladiator?

I just saw the trailer for the upcoming movie for Robin Hood, which will be opening up next year in 2010. It’s directed by Ridley Scott and stars Russell Crowe, which are exactly the same roles they both had in the amazingly awesome and still best-ever Russell Crowe movie, Gladiator (which, incredibly enough opened up nearly 10 years ago in 2000).

This version of Robin Hood looks like it’s going to put a much more realistic (and gruesome) spin on the age old ‘steal from the rich and give to the poor’ story, which means that there may not be many sightings of the Merry Men that we’re all so used to. The movie aims to be more of a prequel to the common Robin Hood story, which has seemed to become pretty popular these days in the entertainment industry. It’s also going to center a lot of it’s plot around Robin Hood’s love for the always beautiful Maid Marian, who is played by Cate Blanchett.

Check out the trailer below, along with some more trailers of well-known Robin Hood movies that we’ve all probably seen at one time or another.

Check out my niece Madison (the praying pilgrim)

My sister justĀ  sent me over this pic of my niece that was posted on the Cincinnati Enquirer. Doesn’t she look great as a praying pilgrim (she’s the smiling blonde in the first row, second from the left)?

I wonder what she was praying for? :)

Introducing the first Hup and Steph Quickie: Rock, Paper, Scissors

After Stephanie and I had an amazing time at a house party here in Palo Alto, CA and after realizing that I had taken a couple amazing clips of the fun, I have decided to come up with a way for you all to see these clips that might not necessarily make it into a full-fledged Hup and Steph video.

I have used my amazing creativity and marketing wizardry and have decided to call these new videos ‘Hup and Steph Quickies‘. Nothing like a good, old fashioned play on words, right? If Bart(Stephanie’s dad) is reading this allow me to emphasize, it’s just a play on words. :)

So, here is the first official Hup and Steph Quickie, which was taken last night when a questionable call during beer pong was settled by some rock, paper and scissors action. Please remember two things while you watch this video:

1. We are screaming that loud outside on a balcony
2. The cops were called on us and showed up about 15 minutes after this video was recorded. Coincidence? I think not.

Check out the video below or over here on YouTube and be sure to let us know what you think about the new Hup and Steph Quickies!
